Quietly, on July 19, 2026, Michalena (Lena) Stetzko Harper passed away.
She was 99 1/2 years old. Predeceased by her loving husband Kendall Harper, and by her two younger sisters and best friends, Jenny Turner and Olga Davis.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Leslie (Norm), and Sharon (Cheng), who were by her side always.
Lena was immensely proud of her 5 granddaughters, Jennifer (Frank), Shannon (Devyn), Christa (Derek), Carolyn (Marc), and Mandy (Alex).
Her 10 great-grandchildren, each uniquely talented, were the light of her life. Liam, Jasper, Faith, Quinn, Graeme, Owen, Emmett, Matthew, Brock, and Stella will continue in life knowing they have her constant support.
Lena came to Canada from Poland as a small child, and was extremely proud to become a Canadian citizen. Through many struggles and stages of life she created a cheerful, generous, positive and loving life. She touched everyone she met as a lovely lady.
A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
