Bertram Baird

It is with profound sadness that the family of Bertram “Bert” Baird announces his passing on April 29, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec, just weeks shy of his 88th birthday.

Born in St. Kitts, Bert—endearingly known as “the King” among family and friends—will be lovingly remembered for his infectious sense of humour, remarkable dance moves, and insatiable zest for life.

A beloved son and brother, a doting uncle, Bert was predeceased by his mother, Doris, and his siblings, Lefty, Alice, and Glencora.

He is survived by his brother, Wycliffe, and sister, Yvonne, as well as his children: Herschel, Cordell, Lynn, and Gweneth, all of whom carry forward his spirit and memory.

He will be fondly missed by his nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Bert,” a title he held with great pride.

In keeping with Bert’s joyful outlook on life, no formal funeral services will be held. His family invites all who knew him to honour his memory by remembering that life is meant to be celebrated rather than just endured. Let us therefore embrace life fully, finding joy in everyday moments and sharing that joy with others - just as Bert did so effortlessly.
