Judith Carole Hennessy (nee Manning), 87, of St. Hubert, passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 1, 2026, at the Centre de soins palliatifs Champlain.
Born on October 22, 1938 in London, England to Victor and Patricia (White), Judy grew up in East Greenfield, Quebec and graduated from St. Lambert High School. She briefly entered the workforce as a teller at the historic Royal Bank of Canada on St. James Street in Montreal before devoting herself to raising her children.
On March 30, 1957, she married Daniel, and together they shared 69 years of marriage. Judy was known for her strength, her humor, and her fierce dedication to her family.
Judy loved gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, Coronation Street, and fish ’n chips. She was an avid sports fan who followed the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays, but above all, she enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren at their hockey and soccer games. In recent years, she loved staying connected with them—sharing in the small joys of everyday life as they started families of their own, travelled abroad, and pursued their interests and careers.
Her husband, Daniel, remains to cherish her memory.
She will be fondly missed by her brother David (Helen). Her resilience and love will continue to anchor her sons Robert (Sharon), David (Suzanne), and Bryan, and her daughters Colleen (Danny) and Carole (George). Her best qualities are reflected in her grandchildren, Daniel, Michaela, Liam, Leah, Sean, Kristen, Lauren, James, Samantha, Cody, and Sarah, and she lives on in the laughter and spirit of her great-grandchildren, Matteo, Lincoln, Brielle, Carly, Lily, Rose, Colton, and Auston (on the way!).
Now at peace, Judy joins her previously departed sons John and James, and granddaughter Melissa.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held, and the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
