In loving memory of
Jane Doyle
September 4, 1940 – October 20, 2026
DOYLE, Jane (née Tangye)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Doyle on October 20th, 2026. Loving wife of Laurence (predeceased). Cherished mother of Christopher, Mary-Anne (Dave) (both predeceased), Siobhan (Peter) and Marie-Claire (Carson). Proud Nana to Emma, Caleb, Alyssa, Grayson, Carter, Cian, Regan and Hadley. Jane will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends, both here in Canada and “across the pond” in the United Kingdom.
Jane grew up in London, England, before making her home in Canada, where she worked at IBM in Montreal. She and Laurence later settled in Oakville in 1980, where they raised their four children. Jane went on to teach computer networking at Sheridan College.
Jane was curious and loved to learn, and she filled her life with friends, culture and travel. She was a longtime member of a book club, enjoyed nature hikes with friends, was a regular at the cinema and the theatre, and loved exploring the world. Above all, Jane cherished her family, and her grandchildren brought her great joy. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous kindness and her bright mind.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Bronte Boathouse, 2340 Ontario Street, Oakville.
